Gastric-Bypass Surgery

Gastric-Bypass Surgery India

Gastric bypass is surgery that helps you thin by changing how your abdomen and small intestine handle the food you eat. After the surgery, your stomach will be smaller. You will feel full with less food. The food you eat cannot move into some elements of your abdomen and small intestine that absorb food. Because of this, your body won't get all of the calories from the food you eat.

Details

You will have anesthesia before this surgery. You may be asleep and pain-free. There are two steps throughout gastric bypass surgery:

The first step makes your abdomen smaller. Your doc uses staples to divide your abdomen into a small upper section and a bigger bottom section. The highest section of your abdomen (called the pouch) is where the food you eat can go. The pouch is about the dimensions of a walnut. It holds only about one ounce (Oz) or twenty eight grams (g) of food. Thanks to this you may eat less and slim down.

Gastric bypass will be done in 2 ways. With open surgery, your doc makes an outsized surgical cut to open your belly. The bypass is finished by acting on your abdomen, intestine, and alternative organs.

Second Step bypass

The second step is the bypass. Your doc connects a small part of your intestine (the jejunum) to a small hole in your pouch. The food you eat can currently travel from the pouch into this new gap and into your intestine. As a result, your body can absorb fewer calories.

Another way to do this surgery is to use a small camera, referred to as a endoscope. This camera is placed in your belly. The surgery is named laparotomy. The scope permits the doc to examine inside your belly.

What to Expect

The doc makes four to six little cuts in your belly.

The scope and instruments required to perform the surgery are inserted through these cuts.

The camera is connected to a video monitor within the operating theatre. this enables the doc to look at within your belly while doing the operation.
